SOUTH BEND - James G. Hirsch Jr., 39, a resident of Naperville, IL, since 1992, formerly of South Bend, IN, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, in Edward Hospital, Naperville, after a courageous four-year battle with Non-Hodgkin's-Lymphoma. He was born August 22, 1969, in South Bend.

Loving husband of Brittany Hirsch of Naperville, to whom he was married August 14, 1998; beloved father of Lauren and Camden; devoted son of the late Jacqueline Hirsch; wonderful brother of Jennifer Hirsch of Naperville, Julianne Hirsch of South Bend and Phillip Wenger of Ohio; treasured nephew of Sharyn Ross of South Bend; adored uncle of Gabriella, Nicholas and Matthew.

Jim grew up in South Bend, attended St. Joseph grade school and was a 1987 graduate of John Adams High School. While in high school he worked at Morris Park. He held a degree in engineering from Purdue University, Lafayette, IN, and had been employed with Tellabs in Naperville since 1992, most recently as senior program manager.

Jim was an avid and competitive golfer, attending Purdue on the Evan`s Golf Scholarship, playing on the golf team.

Visitation will be today, March 24th, from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Frederick-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill Street, Naperville, IL. Services will begin Wednesday, March 25th, at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and will proceed to a 10 a.m. Mass in St. Margaret Mary Church, Naperville (1450 Green Trails Drive). In lieu of flowers, memorial condolences may be made to the James G. Hirsch Jr. Children's Education Fund. For more information, please call 630/355-0213.
