Since graduating I attended Purdue University and obtained my Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology in 1985. I then moved to Fort Wayne IN and worked in nursing homes, clinics, hospitals and schools as a speech pathologist. I met my husband, Terry, in Fort Wayne. He is a graduate of Penn High School and grew up in Mishawaka. We got married in April 1987 and lived in Fort Wayne. We had three boys, Tyler, Trent and Troy and stayed in Fort Wayne until 2001 when we moved to Land O Lakes Fl north of Tampa. There I worked in schools and specialized in working with children with hearing loss. After working in two area schools, I moved to a clinic and worked specifically with children with hearing loss. After that, I worked for the University of South Florida as a clinical and course instructor. We moved to Kernersville, NC in December 2019 and I worked in early intervention. I was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer in March 2021 and went through cancer treatment. I am on a maintenance medication and have no evidence of cancer. I am now working part time as a a speech therapist in a local school. We enjoy driving to the mountains, antiquing, church activities, and entertaining friends and family.
