CURTIS STONE

MISHAWAKA - Curtis Stone Sr. of Mishawaka, IN, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011, as the result of an auto accident in Cass County, MI. Curt owned and operated Stone Custom Contractors with his son, Dustin Stone. Curtis was born on December 19, 1961, in South Bend, IN, to Franklin T. Sr. and Sherrilyn (True) Stone, and remained a lifelong resident.

Curtis is survived by his parents, Franklin and Sherrilyn Stone of Mishawaka; four daughters, Krystal Stone of South Bend, Aubrey Thompson and Sidney Thompson, both of Elkhart, and Jayden Garza of Mishawaka; two sons, Dustin Stone of Mishawaka and Curtis R. Stone Jr. of Elkhart; four grandchildren, Brayden St. Germain, Ahlivia Thompson, Addyson Thompson and Nolan Bontrager. Also surviving are four brothers, Franklin T. Stone Jr. of Mishawaka, G. Eugene (Pamela) Stone, Rex (Jen) Stone and William (Kathy) Stone, all of South Bend; a brother-in-law, Chris Hunsberger; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

His son, Devin C. Stone, girlfriend, Stacey Marks, and Stacey's mother, Kathleen Marks, all died in the same accident. His sister, Roxanne Hunsberger, preceded Curtis in death.

Curtis graduated from John Adams High School in 1981.

He enjoyed his work and was an excellent carpenter. He was affiliated with the Indiana State Carpenters Union. Curtis loved his children, grandchildren and extended family. He enjoyed having family and friends together for cookouts and horseshoes. He also enjoyed shooting pool, and was an avid Notre Dame fan.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2011, in Calvary Chapel, 53494 Fir Road, Granger, IN. Pastor Bob Moore of Calvary Chapel will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 PM until time of services on Tuesday in the church. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, is assisting the family with arrangements.
