VANDALIA - Rebecca Morris, 60, of Vandalia, MI, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Beckie graciously and courageously fought ovarian cancer for 18 years. Rebecca was the Co-founder of the “Gyna Girls” whose passion was educating people on the early detection of ovarian cancer. Rebecca was born on July 11, 1955, in South Bend, IN, to Richard and Bertha (Lemberis) Weldy.

Rebecca is survived by her mother, Bertha, and preceded in death by her father, Richard. As the former Rebecca Weldy, she married Robert Morris in South Bend, IN, in October 1973. Beckie and Bob were committed to each other for over 42 years. Beckie is survived by her loving husband Bob and their 3 children, Carey (Rob) Koehler of Mishawaka, IN, Chris (Jonn) Shaver of Granger, IN, and Jill (Jason) Wagner of Mishawaka, IN. Rebecca was a loving Yia-Yia to six grandchildren - Ayla, Ella, Aris, Drake, Aislin and Kaiden, and she was anticipating the arrival of her seventh grandson expected to be born on June 16, 2016. Rebecca is also survived by her 3 brothers, Rick (Peggy) Weldy of South Bend, IN, Rodney (Kelly) Weldy of Indianapolis, IN, and Rob Weldy of Mishawaka, IN. Rebecca retired from 1st Source Bank as a Customer Service representative after 30 years of service. Beckie's grandchildren were the light of her life. When Beckie loved, it was with her whole heart. Beckie absolutely loved planning, hosting and enjoying time with her family and friends

The family will receive friends from 3-7 pm on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN, where a Rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 12, 2016, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill St., Mishawaka, IN, with Father Terry Fisher officiating. Entombment will follow the service at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the River Bend Cancer Services at 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46615, or to the “Gyna Girls.”
