Danny Ronell Manns

July 10, 1957 - December 27, 2022

Danny Ronell Manns, age 65, transitioned to heavenly existence on December 27, 2022. An outstanding, exceptional Man of God, always available to assist and pray for someone in need, he cannot be replaced and will be missed. He was the oldest of 5 children born to the union of the late Calvin “Sonny” Manns and Verlie Mae Manns.

He graduated from John Adams High School South Bend, Indiana and pursued his education further by studying at Ivy Tech Community College and Strayer University. Danny was a learner. He loved researching and reading. He could always be found watching historical documentaries, watching his favorite Western tv shows, and watching his beloved Chicago Bears. He was often sought out for advice in various situations and shared wisdom that will continue to be carried on by his family and friends.

Danny was a lifelong member of the Christian faith. He was a member of Fellowship of Prayer International Church for 25 years. He was the Minister of Music and was a phenomenally gifted musician playing the organ, piano, and keyboard and singing on the praise and worship team. He was a member of the FOPI Men’s group and considered each man in that group his brother. Respected, and admired by his church family, he adored them as well, adopting them all into his extended family circle.

In 1976, he started a 43-year marital journey by marrying his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Denise, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his 3 cherished and treasured daughters, Donyalla Myrick (Clint), Darra McClendon (Shaine), and Danica Manns and his adored grandchildren, Hayley and Caleb McClendon and Ashton Myrick. Also left to celebrate his legacy, are his beloved mom and sisters, Pastor Verlie Mae Manns, Tamera Manns, Elizabeth White (Reggie), Calvalyn Day and his brother, Eric “Buster“ Manns. He was preceded in death by his cousin Phillis Griffin. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sabrina Chase and brother-in-law, Michael Chase Sr. (Michelle). The survivors’ list also includes a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, friends, acquaintances, special friends and associates.

There will be a celebration of Danny’s life of accomplishments on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 5 pm at Fellowship of Prayer International Church, 3940 Cascade Road, Atlanta GA, 30331. (Pastor Gregory McClendon presiding).
