SOUTH BEND -- Charles E. Csiszar, 49, of Carmel, formerly of South Bend, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 18, 2007.

He was born March 30, 1958, in South Bend, IN, to Joseph J. and Irene (Toth) Csiszar, who survive.

He was a graduate of Adams High School in South Bend and in 1982 earned his B.S. in political science from Depauw University. Charlie spent one year at American University where he served as an intern in the U.S. House of Representatives. At Depauw he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, and played on the intercollegiate tennis team.

Charlie was the executive vice president and chief marketing officer for CFM Corporation of Mississauga, Ontario.

Charlie was a committed and compassionate father, husband, friend and son. He had a passion for life, travel, history and tennis, which he lovingly shared with his daughter, Kelly.

Charlie served on the Board of the Indiana Humanities Council, the Chamber of Commerce of Indiana for K-12 Education, and was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Margaret (Chester) Csiszar; daughter, Kelly Alexandra Csiszar; sister, Dr. Lynne (husband, Barton) Cary; brother-in-law, Dr. Andrew (wife Patricia) Chester; brother-in-law, Cmdr. Alden "Hap" (wife Ruth) Chester; father and mother-in-law, Mike and Dorothy Chester; aunt, Marian Mills; aunt, Rosemarie Cook; uncle, Alex (wife Barbara) Toth; nephews, Andrew, Taylor, Daniel and Patrick; and nieces, Melissa and Emily.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2007, at Second Presbyterian Church, where friends may call two hours prior to the time of services.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Riley Hospital for Children.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center-Carmel.
