SOUTH BEND - William August Reinke II, 53, of South Bend, died at 12:11 a.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010, in Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Bill was born February 11, 1957, in Chicago, IL, to Sue C. (Colvin) and William J. Reinke, and was a lifetime area resident. On September 13, 1980, in South Bend, he married Pamela A. Catanzarite who survives. Also surviving are two sons, William A. Reinke III and Austin A. Reinke, both at home; his parents, Sue C. Reinke of South Bend and William J. Reinke (Elizabeth) of Granger; sister, Sally S. Taelman (Craig) of Niles, MI; and brother, Andrew J. Reinke of Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from Stanley Clark School, John Adams High School and Ferris State College. His tenure of over 30 years in the automotive industry included Basney Ford, 23 years as Service Director at Jordan Ford in Mishawaka, Fixed Operations Manager for Eby Ford in Goshen, and General Manager of the six stores at Zolman Tire. In recognition for his many outstanding talents in the automotive industry, Mr. Reinke received numerous prestigious awards including those from Ford Motor Company and Toyota. Over several decades, Mr. Reinke earned Master Automotive Professional Certifications from the National Institute for Automotive Service. He shared his professional expertise as a trustee of Ivy Tech's Automotive Service Advisory Board and started the Northern Indiana Parts and Service Club. An avid hunter and sportsman, he enjoyed the outdoors with his two sons and family. A marksman, Mr. Reinke was the only NRA certified safety instructor in Northern Indiana. He was an incredibly loving husband, father, son, brother and friend whose home was an open door to many in the community. Considered a second father to many of his sons' friends, Mr. Reinke had an amazing sense of humor, who enjoyed playing practical jokes on friends, family and colleagues. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23rd, in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, with Rev. Mark Gurtner officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 22nd, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N.
