SOUTH BEND - Robert Dewayne Burke, 84, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Thursday, January 19th, 2017 at his home. He was born on October 18, 1932 in South Bend, IN to the late Aurrel and Edmund Burke. Robert was a United States Navy Korean War Veteran and had various jobs over the years including working at Studebaker, Gilberts and South Bend Beauty Supply. He loved music and was always the life of the party.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Burke.Survivors include his wife of thirty-four years, Shirley Burke; daughters, Cindy DeLeon and Pam DeLeon (Johnny) both from South Bend; son, Rob Burke (Lori) from Osceolal; grandchildren, Sarah DeLeon, Ashley Glidden (Kraig), Courtlyn (deceased), Jesus Jr. DeLeon and Jenalyn DeLeon; and great-grandchildren, Allie Glidden and Kane Glidden. A memorial was held on January 23rd at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville, KY followed by a service at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY, where military honors were held by the United States Navy.
