Lois Ann Weaver Claeys was born on 23 September 1932 in Mishawaka Indiana as the daughter of William and Beulah Weaver

Lois Ann Claeys 83 of Osceola passed away Tuesday October 6, 2015, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Lois was born September 23, 1932 in Mishawaka. She grew up in South Bend and was a 1950 graduate of Adams High School.

On August 26, 1954, Lois married Frank J. Claeys. The couple lived most of their married life in Granger and Osceola.

Lois was a bookkeeper for SCS Credit Corporation and for her husband, Frank Claeys, CPA. She was also manager of Jellystone Campground in Plymouth. Lois was a member of the Mishawaka Lions Club. She loved playing cards, particularly Bridge and Euchre and also enjoyed playing games of all kinds. Lois was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan as well as a Notre Dame Girls Basketball fan. She loved both dogs and cats. Lois was an avid flower gardener and at one time enjoyed crocheting. She also enjoyed camping.

Lois is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Frank; four children, John Claeys, William (Lori) Claeys, Nancy (Todd) Metzer and Peggy (Dan) Orosz; four grandchildren, Ann Claeys, Stephanie and Ben Orosz, and Garrett Metzer; a great grandson, Josh Claeys; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, William and Beulah Weaver; her step-father, George Nier; two brothers, Howard and Jean Weaver; and a great granddaughter, Julie Sonnenberg.

Services honoring Lois’ life will be held Friday, October 9, at 1 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Albert Beutler officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Friends may spend time with Lois’ family Thursday, October 8, from 5 – 8 pm and Friday from 12 noon – 1 pm in the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Pet Refuge, Mishawaka Lions Club or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.

Frank Claeys and Lola Blakenman are Lois Weaver Claeys father-in-law and mother-in-law.
