I'm so sorry for you and your sisters about the passing of your Dad. Even though I've never met him, after the past few years of talking to you about your Dad, I feel like I've known him. I am writing on behalf of my Dad, Clare Short. I know that the Durbins and my parents often went traveling together, sometimes to Rotary conventions around the United States and in other countries, and I always heard stories afterward! More recently, Howard would pick up my Dad to attend Rotary meetings together. Great man

Howard was such a mentor for me during our 30 plus years together in Rotary. A quiet giant of caring was Howard. RIP with his lovely wife Esther.
