SOUTH BEND - Gerhart L. Gerbeth, 91 of Westerville, died Thursday April 13, 2017 at his residence. Gerhart was born May 21, 1925 in Rehau, Germany to Max and Frieda Muller Gerbeth.

As a child he grew up in South Bend, Indiana and graduated from Purdue University. During WWII he served in the US Navy as a Gunner Navigator. He worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Rim Plant, in Akron, Ohio and Motor Wheel, in Lansing, Michigan. He was a former member of Advent Lutheran Church, Uniontown, Ohio and a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westerville, Ohio. Gerhart was a loving husband, father and grandfather and an avid fisherman.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 65yrs, Rejeanna Walker Gerbeth, son, Michael R. Gerbeth and brother, William G. Gerbeth. Survived by loving daughter, Pamela (Richard) Gerbeth Scott; grandchildren, Laura (Lars) Larson, Brian (Jessica) Scott, Tim Scott and great-grandchildren, Edie Larson and Ian Scott.

A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Indiana, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gerhart's name to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4686 Walnut Street, Westerville, Ohio 43081. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL.
