Louise Ann (Holmgren) Gilliom
Louise Ann (Holmgren) Gilliom, age 89, a long-time Waukegan Resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in Aurora Healthcare Center Hospital in Kenosha under hospice care. Born in South Bend, Indiana, it was discovered at an early age that she had the gift of a beautiful singing voice. She graduated from Roosevelt University in Chicago in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science in Music. She found outlet for her beautiful voice in church choirs and the Waukegan Concert Chorus.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Gilliom, her parents, David and Margaret Holmgren, brother, David Holmgren and son-in-law, Edward Rotolo. She is survived by her children, Jennifer Rotolo Robbins (Gary), Carole Robbins (Bruce) and James Gilliom and two brothers Wayne Holmgren (Evonne) and Peter Holmgren (Lois). She was grandmother to Aaron Robbins (Regina), David Rotolo, Jason Rotolo (Heather) and Brett Robbins and Four great-grandchildren.
A service in Thanksgiving for her life will be at Christ Episcopal Church, 410 Grand Ave., Waukegan on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to Aurora at Home 103 N. Dodge St., Burlington, WI. 53105 www.aurorahealthcare.org or Christ Episcopal Church 410 Grand Ave. Waukegan, IL 60085.
