SOUTH BEND - Wesley W. Lange Jr., 82, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2007, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on September 9, 1924, in Michigan City, IN, to Wesley W. Eleanor (Swanson) Lange. On January 10, 1948, in South Bend, he married Maxine Elaine Parrott, who preceded him in death on December 18, 2003, after 55 years of a Christ-centered marriage.
SOUTH BEND - Wesley W. Lange Jr., 82, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2007, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on September 9, 1924, in Michigan City, IN, to Wesley W. Eleanor (Swanson) Lange. On January 10, 1948, in South Bend, he married Maxine Elaine Parrott, who preceded him in death on December 18, 2003, after 55 years of a Christ-centered marriage.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Norman Lange on March 8, 2007; and by a great-granddaughter, Lilly Caparell, on November 11, 2006. Mr. Lange is survived by a daughter, Janice (James) McGhee of South Bend; three grandchildren, Daniel McGhee, Jeffrey McGhee and Amanda (Dylan) Caparell, all of South Bend; a great-grandchild, Deven Caparell; three sisters, Betty (Calvin) Stutzman of Nappanee, IN, Marjorie (Robert) Wise of South Bend and Muriel Kiser of South Bend; a brother, David (Elaine) Lange of Mishawaka, IN; and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Lange of Chicago, IL.
Upon moving to Good Shepherd Memory Care Assisted Living, Wesley actively participated in Bible studies, and grew in his spiritual walk. He was a blessing to his family as well as to his extended family at St. Paul's. He was a member of Community Baptist Church in South Bend, and retired in 1986 from Conrail Railroad. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007, in Community Baptist Church, 5715 Miami Road, South Bend. Dr. Bud Steadman, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. today, March 28, 2007, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, and one hour prior to the services on Thursday in church. Contributions in memory of Wesley W. Lange Jr. may be made to Alzheimer's Services, 922 E. Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN 46617.
