MARY (PARKS) KLUGA

SOUTH BEND - Mary Elizabeth (Parks) Kluga, 85, passed away on January 7, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. She was born in South Bend on March 19, 1925, to Millard S. and Ernestine (Doetsch) Parks. Mary had lived in South Bend all her life.

In July 1950 she married Henry E. Kluga, who preceded her in death.

She graduated from John Adams High School. In a lifetime of work and service, she was employed by Robertson Department Store, Studebaker Corporation, Shippers Dispatch, Inc., St. Mary's College, and the AM General Corporation from which she retired in 1992.

She is survived by daughters, Pamela Roland (Larry) of Overland Park, KS, and Sandra Weides (Richard Cullar) of South Bend.

Daughter, Deborah Kaye Kluga, preceded her in death.

She is also survived by three grandsons of whom she was so proud, Jason Weides (South Bend), Matthew Weides (South Bend) and Christopher Roland (Emporia, KS), loving nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Mary's life was a testimony to her love of family and friends. Mary loved music and her church. She lived her life in grateful service to others and was a shining example to all who knew her. She maintained her dignity and sense of humor through her final days.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Morningside and Memory Care for their skilled and compassionate care.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Zion United Church of Christ, 715 E. Wayne St., South Bend, IN 46617. Friends may visit with the family 4 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 12th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. In Mary's memory, contributions may be made to Zion United Church of Christ, South Bend.
