SOUTH BEND - Norma Meredyth Thennis, 84, died at 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, in Southfield Village Health Care, Granger. She was born February 2, 1925, in South Bend, to the late Hilmer and Gladys (Felden) Thennis.

She was a retired secretary for Notre Dame University, had also worked for the Chamber of Commerce, and was a realtor for Cressey and Everett Realty Co. She was a 1943 graduate of Adams High School, was a member of River Park Methodist Church and the Sub Deb Club. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

Survivors include a cousin, Bill (Ailene) Felden of Niles, MI, and godchildren, Tom Hodgen of Fox Lake, IL, and Norma (Tim) Tate of Russiaville, IN.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, in River Park Methodist Church, 920 South 23rd Street, South Bend, with Pastor Tom Thews officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call one half-hour before services. Memorial contributions may be made to River Park Methodist Church or Gideon's International. Stout & Sons Funeral Home, Russiaville, is in charge of arrangements.
