SOUTH BEND - Janice M. Coffield, 89, of South Bend, passed away on Sunday November 27, 2016 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

She was born on January 1, 1927, in South Bend, to the late Fred George and Mildred (Steis) Coffield. She was also preceded in death by an infant twin brother and sister and a brother, Fred Coffield. Janice is survived by her sister, Virginia Frazer of West Virginia, nieces and nephews and dear friend, Barb Fralish.

Ms. Coffield worked for the English Department for the University of Notre Dame.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am Thursday December 1, 2016 at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Matthew's Cathedral 1701 Miami St., South Bend, IN 46614.
