Carl E. Culp Sr., 45, of 220 E. Navarre St., died Tuesday morning in his home after suffering an apparent heart attack.

He was assistant manager of the claims department of the Travelers Insurance Co. for 19 years. Born Aug. 13, 1926, in South Bend, he was a life-time South Bend resident. He was married July 12, 1953, in Iuka, Miss., to Linda Dean who survives.

Surviving besides his wife, are his mother, Mrs. Lucinda Culp of South Bend; a son, Carl E. Jr. and a daughter, Miss Lucinda Gail, both at home; and two brothers, Donald and Robert, of Kalamazoo, Mich.

Friends may call at the Welsheimer Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be conducted in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, Rev. Daniel W. Fowler, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Entombment will be in the Riverview Mausoleum.

He was a graduate of Valparaiso University Law School, a member of the American Bar Assn., member of South Bend Lodge 294 F. & A.M., member of the Scottish Rite of South Bend, a World War II Navy veteran, and member of the American Legion of Plymouth.

Memorial services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday by South Bend Lodge 294 F. & A.M.
