Vincent Dominic Fragomeni

Vincent Dominic Fragomeni passed away on March 12, 2011 at the age of 84. He was the son of proud Italian immigrant parents, but most of all he was our Pop. Our Dad could tell a great joke, play a great hand of cards, and cook a mouth watering turkey on the grill.
He was preceded in death by Charmaine Fishburn Fragomeni in 1996. Together, in South Bend, Indiana, they raised four children, Vincent L. Fragomeni, Vicki L. Shaver, Mary Lou Fragomeni Nuttall (Rick Nuttall) and Gina Fragomeni (Diana Perry). He loved his grandchildren, Dominic Vincent Fragomeni (Jennifer), Samuel Vincent Fragomeni, Dylan Thomas Shaver (Annie) and Hannah Charmaine Nuttall.
He started the second chapter in his life when he married LaVerne C. Pennels in Green Valley, Arizona. He expanded his family to include her children, Mark (Alice) Pennels, Christopher (Gail) Pennels and Scott Pennels. Mia and Michael, children of Mark and Alice, were special to him.
Prepared for his death, he described how proud he was to have served his country in the Army during World War II. He told all around him of his love for them. Then he told a joke.
Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at GREEN VALLEY MORTUARY AND MEMORIAL GARDENS, 18751 S. La Canada Drive, Sahuarita, AZ 85629.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to La Posada Foundation, Scholarship Program, 350 East Morning Side Road, Green Valley, AZ 85614.
