FORT WAYNE - Helen Marie Freeland, 85, went home to heaven on October 20, 2011. She was born on February 18, 1926, to Elsie and Ora Trader. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and a member of Grace Point (Lake Ave.) Church of the Nazarene, Mary Penrose Wayne Chapter of the D.A.R, and loved to tat.
She is survived by husband of 67 years, Theo Freeland; six children, Ann (David) Atkinson of Bourbonnais, IL, Larry (Marcia) Freeland of Fort Wayne, David (Diane) Freeland of Kansas City, MO, Beverly (Martin) Clajus of Los Angeles, CA, Wanda (David) Lockwood of Anchorage, AK, and John (Debby) Freeland of Andrews; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Ellen Lepinske of Hayward, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia McDonald; daughter, Delores Freeland; sons, Michael and Steven; and an infant daughter.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2011, at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 8611 Mayhew Road, with calling hour prior, Rev. Rex Person officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery - Osceola, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Grace Point.
