Betty Louise Gember, age 87, of Three Oaks, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 3, 2016, after battling a lengthy illness.

Betty was born March 19, 1928, as Betty Louise Erhardt, the daughter of Edith and George Erhardt in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from St Joseph Hospital Nursing School in 1949 and practiced nursing for several years, which she dearly loved. In 1950, Betty married Arthur S Gember, survives, also of South Bend, Indiana. Betty and Arthur have three wonderful children: Catherine Gember of Stevensville, Michigan, Mark (Paula) Gember of Athens, Alabama, and William (Teresa) Gember of Galien, Michigan, all of whom survive. Betty is also survived by her sister Caryl (Hutch) Stevens of Pointe Verda Beach, Florida; and her brother-in-law Floyd Burton of Avon, Indiana. Betty is preceded in death by her six siblings: George Erhardt Jr, Jack Erhardt, Jean VanBellingham, Liz McGowan, Edith Jordan, and Joanne Burton.

Betty was a devoted wife and mother. She dearly loved her family and friends. She worked in the family business, Gember Rexall Drugstore, for many years with her husband Arthur. Betty will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made to: St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 28 Ash Street West, Three Oaks, Michigan 49128.

Betty was a member of St Mary of the Assumption throughout her whole life and was active in various ministries of the church, including being a Eucharist Minister, which she enjoyed greatly.

Betty has many friends at St Mary of the Assumption, and for all their love and support the family would like to say thank you. May God Bless you all.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 12 Noon, at St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 28 Ash Street West, Three Oaks, Michigan 49128.

A private inurnment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Three Oaks Township, Michigan.
