SOUTH BEND - Joan M. Prust (nee LaBar), 84, of Towson, MD and formerly of Elyria, died January 2, 2011.

She was born September 28, 1926 in Indianapolis, IN and graduated from John Adams High School in South Bend, IN. She moved to Elyria In 1947 and lived in Avon Lake and Elyria until relocating to Towson in 2001.

Joan was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Elyria. She enjoyed genealogy and was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonists, The Colonial Dames of the 17th Century and the National Society, Southern Dames of America and was a former member of Elyria Y.W.C.A. Holly League. She was formerly employed at Lorain County Title Company, Harold Rorick Insurance Company and Bendix Corporation from 1968 until retiring in 1980.

Joan is survived by a sister, Mary Frances Rever of Towson, MD; niece Dr. Linda J. Rever; nephews William B. Rever, III and Dr. David L. Rever, also stepchildren Sharon Stenson, Dr. Daniel Prust and Eric Prust.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman W. Prust in 1997 and parents George Lewis and Lela Marie LaBar.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of a noon service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. Reverend Jerry Murphy will officiate with burial in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
