PATRICIA (OUELLETTE) TANSEY

GRANGER - Patricia A. Tansey, 84, of Mishawaka, passed away on September 8, 2012, of an illness. She was born in South Bend to Roy W. and Julia C. Ouellette on January 29, 1928. Both have preceded her in death.

Upon graduation from John Adams High School in 1945, Patricia attended St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing.

On September 27, 1947, Patricia married Notre Dame student and WW II veteran, James Tansey, at Sacred Heart Church. Jim passed away on August 9, 2007.

Patricia is survived by four children, Kevin of Eugene, OR, Dennis (Sue) of Osceola, Suzanne Murray and Annette Tansey (Gene) Moore of Mishawaka. Two grandchildren, Andrew (Amanda) Murray of Mishawaka and Katherine (Zachary) Emmons of South Bend; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Patricia was closely devoted to her family, providing strength and love. She was a homemaker until her children were raised, then worked many years in the bridal registry and china department at the former Dayton Hudson Department Store in University Park Mall. She always placed the needs of others in front of her own. Patricia had a fondness for cats, always having at least one to care for throughout her life.

The family would like to thank the outstanding management and staff of Emeritus at Arborwood for their support and care of Patricia during her illness, as well as Harbor Light Hospice. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service held.
