SOUTH BEND - Betty Hazen, who blessed us all with her love, compassion, grace, and a self-sacrificing caregiving spirit, moved on to her heavenly place with Jesus on November 26th.
Betty was born in Bremen, IN. She was a 1945 graduate of John Adams in South Bend, Fridley, MN 1955-1995, South Bend 1995-2008, and Westerville, OH, 2008-2011.
She was preceded by her beloved husband, John, and daughter, Susan. She is survived by her son, John, and daughter-in-law, Kristi Hazen of Dublin, OH, and granddaughters, Crystal Petrello (Tony) of Las Vegas, NV, and Stephanie Mangham (Ruben) of Columbus, OH.
Interment and a family graveside memorial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minnesota in the spring of 2012. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the National Cancer Society.
