Dorothy Anne Harper, 93, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at her home. Dorothy was born on December 8, 1928 in South Bend, Indiana to the late John P. Freienstein and Agnes (Code) Harper. Of their four children, Dorothy was the youngest.

Throughout her childhood and most of her adult life, Dorothy was always a proud and thankful student and parishioner of St. Monica Catholic Church. A 1946 John Adams High School graduate, she worked at Robertson’s Department Store as a sales clerk. She was married on June 5, 1948 in South Bend to the late James Thomas Harper.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Ruth Harper of Mishawaka, IN; son, John (Martha) Harper; and grandson, Brian Harper. Along with her parents and husband, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her son, Ben Harper, and her granddaughter, Sarah Brady Harper.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka, IN. Interment will take place immediately following the service at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Dorothy can be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061.
