Lois Ann Dahlquist, age 94, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.

Lois was born on July 22, 1928 in South Bend, IN, the daughter of Russell and Lois Josephine (Cook) Jonas. She married Harold "Doc" Dahlquist on October 3, 1953 in South Bend, IN. Lois and Doc then moved to Glen Ellen, IL and raised their three children. After Doc's untimely death in 1964, Lois moved several times to Arlington Heights, Hanover Park, Joliet, Lisle and lastly Peoria, where she spent her last five years, close to her son and several grandchildren. During the 20 years Lois lived in Joliet, she was married to Bill Masterson. He preceded Lois in death in 2005 in Joliet, IL.


Lois is survived by her son, Craig (Tricia) Dahlquist of Peoria, 9 grandchildren, Carey (Cody) Donlan of Peoria, Molly Dahlquist of St. Louis, Amanda, Martin, Michael and Ellen Dahlquist, all of Peoria, Andrew Lindholm of Joliet, Thomas Carroll of Wisconsin, Mary (Matt) Frahm of Normal, son-in-law Thomas Carroll of Normal, and 4 great grandchildren, Chloe, Daxson, Draven and Grace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, daughter, Kay (Carroll) Dahlquist, son, Mark Dahlquist, grandson Sheridan "Danny" Dahlquist and brother, Robert Jonas.

Lois was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was involved in various activities in each city she lived in. She had the opportunity to serve as a church Elder and served on various committees.

Lois enjoyed social events that included music and dancing. As a single parent, being involved in Parents Without Partners, was very important to her during her younger years. Lois and Bill enjoyed traveling in her later years.

Private Graveside services at Chapel Hills Garden West in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.

Memorials may be made to Lutheran Hillside Village Benevolent Fund or the Danny Dahlquist Memorial Fund through Bradley University.
