Martha Anne Hayden

SOUTH BEND - Martha W. Hayden, 80, of South Ironwood Drive, South Bend, passed away 1:18 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008, in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Martha was born May 25, 1928, in South Bend, to the late Hedley and Norma (Stamm) Warrick.

On June 19, 1948, in South Bend, Martha married John H. Hayden Sr., who passed away July 27, 1989. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Huff. Martha is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Charles) Carhart of Mishawaka; two sons, John H. (Connie) Hayden Jr. of South Bend and Frederic W. Hayden of South Bend; six grandchildren, Heather Carhart, Mike Huff, Matt Huff, Xandi Carhart, Trish Hayden and J.R. Hayden.

Martha was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a 1946 graduate of John Adams High School, and volunteered many years at the Budget Corner.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 5, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend, IN, with Rev. David Schrader of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Highland cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. In Martha's memory, contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 3012 S.
