Norman Richard Turnock
May 14, 1927 – May 22, 1983
Norman Richard (Dick) Turnock, 56, of Marion, Ind., formerly of South Bend, died Friday at Wishard Memorial Hospital, Indianapolis, after a brief illness.
He was a plumber. He was born May 14, 1927, in South Bend, and lived here for 26 years before moving to Marion.
On April 28, 1951, in Mishawaka, he married Shirley Jean Kipp. She survives along with a son, Frank, of Jeffersonville, Ind.; five grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. James E. Cauley, Jr., Mrs. William Echard, Mrs. George Klowetter and Mrs. Charles F. Christman, all of South Bend; and two brothers, George J. Turnock of South Bend and Benjamin P. Turnock of Mishawaka.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Marion, with Rev. Rick Miller officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Shawley Funeral Home, Marion.
He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 661. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army.
