SOUTH BEND - Dean Carson Adair, 82, of South Bend, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in his residence. Mr. Adair was born July 4, 1931, in Wolf Lake, IN, to the late Juanita (Keister) and Donald L. Adair, and had lived in the South Bend area most of his life.

On August 10, 1974, in South Bend, he married the love of his life, Lorraine (Miller), who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Mark Adair (Valerie) of Norman, OK, Eric Adair (Peggy) of Indianapolis, IN, and Kyle Adair of Buchanan, MI; and eight grandchildren, Madison, Grace, Elizabeth, Daniel, Abby, Sarah, Sydney and Randi Adair.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Dean Adair.

Dean retired from South Bend Federal Savings and Loan where he served many years as president. He was active with the Izaak Walton League and South Bend Jaycees, was a Paul Harris Fellow and longtime member of the South Bend Rotary Club, served on the Salvation Army Board, and was a charter member of The Summit Club. He was a Civil War buff and spoke to various groups and students around the area. Although Dean didn't have many hobbies, his favorite one was spoiling his grandchildren.
