Jack L. Allen passed away peacefully September 16 at St. Johns Pleasant Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Indiana on August 7, 1931 to Harry and Helen Allen. He graduated from John Adams High School in 1949. He attended business school for two years and then he enlisted in the Air Force. He was so dedicated to his profession that he even tried to sell soft water from his hospital bed. He had a strong work ethics and continued working until just before his passing. He would say that even if you were sick you might as well go to work because you would feel just as bad sitting at home.

He recently celebrated his 81st birthday with his entire family in attendance. His birthday was a day that the family jokingly referred to as the "National Holiday" as they celebrated it together for many years.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Maggie) of 48 years; his children; Brenda Allen (John Parker) of Arizona, Jack Allen (Amy) of Escondido, and Jennifer Haliday (Mark) of Camarillo; grandchildren, Alisa, Elliot, and MacKenzie of Arizona, Jordan and Eric of Camarillo, and Michelle of Escondido, and two great-grandsons, Tristan and Kaenon of Arizona.
