HELEN (CONNALLY) BURNS-MCGUIRE

June 25, 1930 - Dec. 18, 2012 SOUTH BEND - Helen "Ducky" Burns-McGuire, 82, of South Bend, passed away at 12:03 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at the South Bend Hospice House. She was born on June 25, 1930, in New York, NY, to the late Eugene and Helen (Bills) Connally.

Helen is survived by her sons, Denis (Nancy) Burns and Michael (Carol) Jester; her sister in-law, Betty Connally; her grandchildren, Christina Garcia, Tamara Shovelton, Melissa Eison, Karilee Burns and Donald Burns; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Helen was married to Don Burns, who preceded her in death; and then on March 23, 1978, she married Clark (Mickey) McGuire, who preceded her in death on May 5, 1991. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Frances Jester and Patricia Rice; a brother, James Connally; and her beloved Aunt Florence and James Lovelly.

She graduated from John Adams High School in 1947 and enjoyed a 31-year career with Ball Band/Uniroyal Naughhyde sales office in Santa Ana, California. After returning to South Bend, she worked for Central Transport Inc. & Old Dominion Freight Line for 12 years.

At Helen's request, there will be no services or viewing. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
