Improving After Crash

Thirteen-month-old Bruce Dull, whose father, South Bend policeman, Vernon C. Dull, 27, of 3006 Bonds Ave., was killed Friday in an automobile crash near Niles, Mich., was reported in good condition today in Pawating Hospital in Niles.

The child suffered a scalp laceration and cuts and bruises of the body in the two-car accident on U.S. 112 at the intersection of M-60, three miles south of here. His father was fatally injured, suffering a broken neck and severed spinal cord.

Dull's wife, Betty, 27, was discharged after treatment for abrasions and contusions of the body. A passenger in the Dull auto, Mrs. Dorothy Flowers, 23, of 2021 N. Brookfield St., was also released after treatment.

Officers Pallbearers,

Funeral Services for Dull will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church by Rev. Leo Wajachkowski, pastor. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery. Friends may call in the Hollis Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.

Twelve police officers will serve as pallbearers. Active bearers will be Martin Storm, Harold McMichael, Richard Albright, Roy Jensen, Robert Lips, and Richard Martinzak. Honorary bearers will be John Pastor, Albert Poevoorde, Marvin Schindler, Willis Shoemaker, Glen Terry and Eugene Sikorski.

Dull was born in South Bend, Nov. 5, 1929, and lived his life here. He was married in 1955 to Betty J. Flowers, who was injured with him in the accident. He leaves his son; his mother, Mrs. Garnett Dollie, of South Bend; his father George Dull, of Grand Prairie, Tex., and a half sister, Miss Phyllis Dull of Grand Prairie. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 303 and the 40 & Eight.
