Idamae Maloney

Idamae Maloney, 94, of Fayetteville, known lovingly as Butch, passed on peacefully on October 1st, 2023.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, James Dryden Maloney, on July 18, 2017. They married in South Bend, Indiana on August 1, 1959.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Ruth Ann Ahearn, Robert Fisher, and Paul Fisher.

Her gardens were always in bloom, and she was an amazing cook, preparing delicious meals made meticulously with love. She also loved square dancing, singing, sewing, and water skiing. She was a hardworking, loving mother and homemaker. The homemade décor in her lovely home exhibited her many talents. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Syracuse, NY. In earlier years, she was an active member and Sunday School teacher in the Christian Science Church in Connecticut, while living in Trumbull for over 50 years. In her later years, she lived closer to family in Central New York. She spent many special occasions with family and found joy in her many friendships as a resident at Towne Center. She found special companionship in her dear friend, Jerry Roach, who was a constant comfort to her in her final happy years.

Idamae is survived by her children, Dale Richard Maloney of Anson, Maine, Blue Judy Thompson of Showlow, Arizona, James Christian Maloney of Chittenango, New York, and Candy Sue Gibb of Chittenango, New York. Idamae was loved by all her grandchildren: Colrain Fragoso, Alvah Maloney, David Kyler Gibb, Kelsey Cottet, and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Towne Center Retirement Community, 3900 Medical Center Drive, Fayetteville, NY 13066, on Sunday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m. We know that she will forever be in God's loving embrace.
