Marjorie Ann Scott, born Marjorie Ann Soelch, age 87, a St. Clair Shores, MI, resident from 1956-2014, passed away in Farmington Hills, MI, on December 16, 2016.

Marjorie Soelch was born on July 13, 1929 in South Bend, Indiana, a daughter of Ruth Pamer and John Soelch (m. 10 June 1923, South Bend, IN). A sister to Carolyn Lou Soelch, she graduated from Hanover College in 1951, it was there that she met her husband, Thomas Scott, and they were married in 1950. He passed away in 2014.

She was survived by four children, Stephen (Ellen) of New Albany, IN, Brian of Statesville, North Carolina, Melissa, and Timothy (Marianne), both of St. Clair Shores. In addition, there are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who will miss her love, thoughtfulness, and care for each individually.

She was a granddaughter of Adam Soelch and mother Summer & Andrew Palmer and mother Stephenson.

She was very involved with all the school, church, and other activities of the family. Children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their spouses brought her joy and she made everyone feel appreciated and valued. Part-time residences in Kingsville, Ontario and Sanibel, Florida brought many years of enjoyment as well as a number of long-term friendships that remain today. The family is especially proud of all the hours and resources she committed to knitting stocking caps for members of the military and for a homeless ministry.
