Left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his wife of 52 years, Marilyn; his sons, Jason Taylor and Jeff (April) Taylor; grandchildren, Adelaide and Zachary Taylor; brother, Otto (Irene, deceased) Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Gregory and brother, Orra Taylor.

Jerry liked taking his sons and neighbor kids fishing. During the summers, when he wasn’t coaching his sons in baseball, he golfed on the St Jude Golf League and bowled during the winter.  Somewhat a creator, he handmade wooden mirrors, lights, and shelves that he would sell at craft shows. He and Marilyn enjoyed attending Notre Dame basketball games, watching local softball games, and going to the casinos, where he could tell which slot machines were the best. Jerry also loved playing poker weekly with his friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd. South Bend.

Memorial Donations may be sent to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County.
