SOUTH BEND - Arthur A. Langel Jr., 52, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died of natural causes at 11 a.m. Saturday in his home.
Mr. Langel was employed by the state of Florida at the Indian River (Fla.) Correctional Institution. He was born Sept. 13, 1943, in South Bend. He is survived by his mother, Clara V. Langel of South Bend; three sisters, Barbara Radecki of Mishawaka, Sandra Wolf of Monument, Colo., and Donna Metz of South Bend.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Florida Police Benevolent Association and Florida Peace Officer Association.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in Zahoran Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
