Cindy Sue Everly (Horvath)

Cindy S. Horvath

Cindy S. Horvath, of South Bend, passed away at her home with her family by her side reciting the Lord’s Prayer on Friday, December 24, 2021, at the age of 70. Cindy was born in South Bend on May 1, 1951, to the late Chester M. and Ethel Maurine (Urbin) Everly. She was a graduate of John Adams High School and remained a lifelong resident of the area.

On July 17, 1971, in South Bend she was united in marriage to her best friend, Donald Horvath, and although life was not perfect, they were perfect for each other. They built a life together and endured all of life's challenges together. They were blessed with 3 children, Kelly (John) Pickens of Mishawaka, Doug (Christan) Horvath of Granger and Bridget Malling of Mishawaka, along with 8 grandchildren, Kaleigh (Josh), Bobby, Sarah, Addie, Filomena, Jack, Chloe, Quinn, and 2 great grandchildren, Nevaeh, and Arabella. She is also survived by her brother Kent (Karen) Everly. She was preceded in death by her sister, Charlene Rosheck, and brothers, Bobby and RayGene Everly.

Cindy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She had a love of the water and passed that love onto her children. They would spend many years at their place on PJC Lakes and Wildwood campground making memories that will last a lifetime. Cindy loved spending time with her friends at the lake and will fondly be remembered for her beautiful smile and her love of Christmas. How unique that she would pass away on the eve of her favorite holiday? She would put a lot of time into her decorations and making cookies for the family. She was a wonderful friend, who sustained lifelong friendships. Her oldest friendships were as long as 65 years, starting in kindergarten. However, her greatest joy came from being with her kids and grandkids.

Visitation for Cindy will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, and again from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, In 46615. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, with burial and graveside services to follow at Riverview Cemetery in South Bend.
