Linda Diane (Stouder) Kovacevich

Linda Diane Kovacevich, 72, of Jimtown; a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in Mishawaka, IN. Born on November 9, 1950, in South Bend, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Gladys (Orsund) Stouder.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Chris Kovacevich of Jimtown; their daughter, Michelle Kovacevich of Mishawaka; and their son, Donald (Jaclyn) Kovacevich of Westminster, Colorado. She was the proud grandmother of Ava, Rilee, and Keaton Kovacevich. Her memory will be cherished by her siblings, Phil (Ilona) Stouder of Germany, Randy (Elzane) Stouder of Elkhart. Preceding her in death, along with her parents, was her brother David Stouder, who passed in 2019.

A bright and determined individual, Linda earned her nursing degree from Purdue University and became a proud member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN). She dedicated over 40 years of her life to serving her community as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

In addition to her nursing career, Linda had a passion for numbers and served as a tax preparer for H&R Block.

Outside of work, Linda held a steadfast love for nature, becoming a master gardener who always welcomed the arrival of spring with beautiful blossoms in her vibrant garden. One interest of hers was her love for flamingos.

Linda was an adventurous woman who found joy as a world traveler. She deeply valued experiencing the beauty in life and sharing these unforgettable moments with her family and friends.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones for a celebration of Linda's life 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. The memorial service will begin at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
