Kenneth Earl Follmar

Kenneth Earl Follmar, D.D.S., M.S.D.

Oral Surgeon

Dec. 15, 1923 - Oct. 7, 2010

After a life well lived, Dr. Follmar is now at peace. We are confident he is with his maker, and with his beloved wife Isabelle.

Dr. Follmar was born in Hammond, Indiana and lived and worked in the Santa Clara Valley for more than 50 years. Dr. Follmar was a respected and revered oral surgeon who was known nationally for his expertise in oral surgery, dental education, and dental ethics. He personally helped scores of students pursue the field of dentistry as a profession.

Dr. Follmar was preceded in death by his mother Marie, his son John, and his wife Isabelle (Penny).

Dr. Follmar is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Marion and Bill Eddie, son and daughter-in-law Ken and Debbie Follmar, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Donna Follmar. He was the proud grandfather of Bill II, Christina, Joey, Ken III, Keith, Troy, Alicia, Jarrod, and Michael II. He was a beaming great grandfather to Cecelia, Rowan, Joshua, Keith II, and Brandon and two more on the way.

He will be remembered as the patriarch of a large loving family, both professionally and personally. A "Joy of Life Celebration" is planned for Saturday, October 16, at 1:00PM at the home of his son - 15261 Sobey Road, Saratoga, 95070. In lieu of flowers a contribution to UOP Dental School would be the preference of Dr. Follmar.

MEMORIES & CONDOLENCES
FOR KENNETH FOLLMAR

I worked for Dr. Follmar over 30 years ago. I was new to Ca. and a newlywed too. I learned alot and felt like part of a team and family. We still own son John's red '66 Corvette. I am sorry not to have seen him over the years but family and life always keeps you busy. I know he will be missed by all.
God Bless all. He and his family are in my prayers.

I was a patient of his and felt a great bond with him. I had seen him just the day before he passed, he was a gentle giant in my eyes, he will be missed.

Sorry to hear the news. He removed my wisdom teeth in high school. I played football for Branham (class of '71) against his son at Los Gatos.
