MEMORIES & CONDOLENCES
FOR NADINE BAILEY

Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved. There are never any right words to express how deeply sad I am for the pain your family is enduring at this difficult time.

As Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I am sincerely thankful for her valiant service in defense of our rights and freedom.

Her commitment to family, friends, our community, and to serving our great nation leaves a wonderful legacy. May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with her help you when you need it most. She will never be forgotten, and your family will be remembered in my prayers.
Senator Leticia Van de Putte

My family and I are very sad about Nadine's passing. She was a funny and wonderful lady and will be missed by all. I only wish we had seen more of her. My father and mother spoke very highly of her. Nadine always asked about my family and my son.

She became my friend the moment I met her. She was warm, loving and witty. I will miss our chats.

Aunt Nadine and Uncle Pat were, hands down, my favorite relatives. I remember driving across country with a friend during the Summer of 1979. We had planned to stop at Nadine's house to mooch off the Baileys but our timing was off and we ended up pulling in front of their house very late at night. The house was dark and as my friend and I were debating on what to do... the door to our beater van pops open and there's Pat telling us to 'git on in the house'. Once inside, our apoligies for how late it was brushed aside, Nadine was already at the stove cracking eggs and asking how we liked our steak (steak, of course being a staple at all Bailey meals)
We are all the poorer with the passing of Nadine Bailey and her Texas sized heart.

Nadine was a wonderful lady. Although we saw her infrequently she always saw as if we were just down the street. She had a delightful sense of humor and loved to tell stories of her baby brother (dad) and the life they led growing up. We learned much about the lives of our aunts, uncles, and grandparents from her. Every visit was fun. I wish we saw more of her and Uncle Pat and their children over the years. -Steve Schrader

Mrs. Bailey was my sixth grade teacher at Agnes Cotton Elementary School many years ago. I still remember her to this day. She was a wonderful teacher and mentor. I think about her often and about the books she read to us. I think she was the first teacher to get me really interested in books. There's one particular book she read about a couple of kids getting lost in a cove, and I wish I could remember the name of the book in order to obtain it. I think about Mrs. Bailey everytime I think about that book. I wish there were more teachers like her today.

I will sorely miss my big sister. She has been an inspiration to me my whole life, a mentor to me as I was growing up and advice and comfort to me as an adult. I loved her very much.
