BRIAN A. WOOD

MISHAWAKA - Brian Allen Wood, 50, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Brian was born on September 15, 1962, in Mishawaka, to Ross Allen and Dorothy M. (Compton) Wood.

He graduated from John Adams High School in South Bend in 1982.

Brian was known and loved by many who knew him as a 30-year vendor and a caring friend at the Shipshewana Flea Market. He was well-known for selling Uncle Dick's golf balls, old windows, and a variety of antiques and collectibles. He was talented in wood working and did local craft shows. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family at Uncle Jerry and Barb's campground for the family reunions. He took great pride in helping his uncles and father, Ross, set up the tent, make homemade ice cream, and prepare waffles for breakfast.

Brian was dearly loved by his nephews, nieces, family and friends, and was always there with a friendly smile and a helping hand.

Brian is survived by his father, Ross (Judy) Wood of Mishawaka; and his siblings, Kim (Rob) Snider of Mishawaka, Robin Wood of Mishawaka, Terry (Rachel) Keyser of Bourbon, Sherry Keyser of Granger and Chris Wood of South Bend. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Greg, Adam, Nathaniel, Hannah, Gary, Faith, Matthew, CorDale and Tucker.

His mother, Dorothy Compton Wood Feuer, preceded him in death in 2006.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend; Richard Compton will officiate. Friends may visit following the services until 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Robin Wood.
