Gig was employed for 32 years with American Family Insurance where he took great pride in taking care of his customers. His incredibly strong work ethic and love for his job contributed to his tremendous success. Gig earned American Family’s annual incentive trip for an impressive 29 consecutive years, and 31 in total. Even throughout his illness, Gig always ensured his family was able to travel, which was a top priority for him. His dedication to his job was tremendous, but never overshadowed his life at home. Gig was the ultimate family man and made sure everyone at home was always the top priority. He spent many of his days in the front yard playing with his children and achieved his and his wife's dream of creating a beautiful home for his family. Gig was a natural competitor and loved any sort of competition. As a young man, Gig strived to be a great golfer, and played for Adams High School’s varsity golf team. His love of competition continued throughout his adult life where he played a variety of sports, but golf was always a constant. Gig loved to participate in his children’s activities, where he touched a lot of lives and created a community that adored him. He was able to relate to people of all ages and was oftentimes seen in the middle of a game with the neighborhood children. He was a great coach, and a great friend to anyone that had the pleasure of meeting him. His warm personality, contagious laugh, and generous heart will be greatly missed. In his memory, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
