Thomas Eugene Pawlak

Thomas E Pawlak

October 15, 1953 ~ January 23, 2024 (age 70)

Thomas E. Pawlak, aged 70, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2024, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Born on October 15, 1953, in South Bend, he was a man of adventurous spirit and courageous heart, whose thoughtful nature touched the lives of many.

Tom was the cherished son of Walter J. Pawlak Jr. and Mary Alice (Rettinger) Pawlak. He raised two wonderful children, Jamie (Justin) Murray and Thomas Pawlak II. Later in life he was enriched by the love and companionship of his life partner, Renee McNutt. Tom’s joy was multiplied by the laughter and energy of his six grandchildren, Caden, Rylan, Khalin, Briar, Trent, and Natalie, who will miss their grandfather's boundless enthusiasm and love for life.

He is survived by his brother, David (Rose) Pawlak, and his uncle, Dale Rettinger from California, who remember him as a beacon of strength and a leader within the family.

Tom was a proud graduate with an Associate's degree, which served as a foundation for his professional endeavors. His work ethic and dedication were evident to all who knew him. Beyond his professional life, Tom-X was an energetic member of A.B.A.T.E., where he combined his passion for the open road with a commitment to the community of riders he held dear. Also active with the Mishawaka Eagles #2083.

An outdoorsman at heart, Tom-X found solace and joy in the simplicity of nature. He was an avid camper and fisherman, often found with a line in the water or a campfire crackling nearby. His love for bowling and pool were more than hobbies; it was a way for him to connect with friends and engage in friendly competition.

Tom-X’s life was a journey marked by love, laughter, and the courage to face each new day with an open heart. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will live on in the stories shared by family and friends and in the quiet beauty of the natural world he so loved.

Services for Tom will take place on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 2pm at Palmer Funeral Home ~ Bubb Chapel, 3910 N Main Street, Mishawaka with a visitation being held from 11am – 1pm.

Thomas Timothy Murphy (1972)

The Class of '72 was a better class for having Tom in it.  I read the beautiful obituary with interest, as it captured the essence of the gentleman he was.  May God bless you, Tom.  We will meet again.

Tommy Murphy, Sydney
