Vicky Susan Kosanovich, 50, of South Bend, Ind., died at 4:15 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2006, in Hospice House following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Vicky was born May 3, 1955, in St. Louis, Mo., to Betty Jane (Other) and the late Richard Charles Eming, and had lived in South Bend for the past 37 years, coming from California.

On June 21, 1980, in South Bend, she married Robert J. Kosanovich, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Joshua D. and Benjamin S. Kosanovich at home; her mother, Betty Jane Eming of South Bend; two sisters, Rebecca (Steve) Cordis of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Judith "Judy" (Dave) Bland of South Bend; a brother, Richard W. Eming of Saugatuck, Mich.; Mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, John M. Kosanovich, father-in-law, Gerry and Bill Slater of South Bend; Brother-in-law, David M. Kosanovich of South Bend; sister-in-law, Elaine (Terry) McConnell of Henderson, Nev.; aunt, Caroline (Dan) Blocker; aunt, Delores, and uncle Bill; uncle, Cap and aunt Tina; nieces and nephews, Cory, Carrie, Shawna, Christine, Sarah and Mike; and great-nieces and nephews, Hailey, Talen and Anthony.

Vicky was a Special Education teacher at Edison Middle School. She was a 1974 graduate of John Adams High School, attending Holy Cross College and received her B.S. from Ball State University. She also redeived a Master's Degree from IUSB where she excelled and made the Dean's List.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, with Rev. Delron Shirley officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 29, in the funeral home.
