Jeanette Watkins
Jeanette Watkins, 30, of 706 N Jacobs, died Friday at 10:40 p.m. at the Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo. She was an employee at the AT&T office, where she worked as an operator. She was born on Jan. 24, 1955, in South Bend and she lived here all of her life.
She is survived by her parents, Eugene and Addle Watkins, with whom she lived; two sisters, Alice Ivey of Montgomery. Ala. and Lucille Watkins of South Bend; and a brother, Master Sgt. Charlie C. Watkins, stationed at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Ill.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First AM E Zion Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call Tues-day from 5 to 9 p.m. in Clark's Funeral Chapel.
She was a 1973 graduate of John Adams Highs School.
She was a member of First AM E Zion Church, where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the church's Youth Council and the Christian Education program. She was a Missionary Life member and was recently elected to the Annual Council of the Chicago District.
