Douglas B. Selig, 53, of South Bend, IN., passed away at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, April 07, 2012 in Hospice House. Douglas was born on August 14, 1958 in South Bend to Les and Beverly (Miller) Selig who both survive along with his three sisters, Debra (Martin) Cook of Wakarusa, IN., Dawn (Terry) Powell of Dowagiac, MI., and Dana (Daniel) Jacobs of Goshen, IN., nieces and nephews, Shannon Wynn, Adam Severns, Paul Kurdys, Anthony Kurdys, Nathan Jacobs, Andrea Mathis, Talia Jacobs and Carson Jacobs, two great nieces, Aurelia Kurdys and Alyssa Wynn.

Douglas worked at Lowe's in Elkhart, IN., as a Sales Specialist, and was also Owner/Operator of an interiorscaping business, Superior Plant Care.

Growing up Doug was involved in Boy Scouts, Indian Guides and played baseball for East Side Little League. He enjoyed playing his saxophone and played throughout his young adult years in Tony Barron's Orchestra.

He was a 1976 graduate of John Adams High School and a 1980 graduate of Purdue University.

He was a member of the Council Oak # 745 Masonic Lodge and he was an avid collector of baseball cards and comic books.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where a Masonic service will take place also on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place at the Bubb Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 with Pastor Dennis Ingle officiating the services with burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice Foundation, 4220 Edison Lakes Pkwy Ste 210, Mishawaka, IN 46545-1440.
