SOUTH BEND - Carole M. Cameron, 83 years old, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away at 6:30 am Friday, July 15, 2016 at her home.

Carole was born on August 4, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Clarence and Ruth (Godfrey) Cameron and moved to South Bend in 1944. She retired in 1986 after more than 30 years of service at Bendix Corporation.

Carole was a member of First Presbyterian Church, South Bend. She played for the Blue Sox, in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.

Carole is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law; Sharon L. and Dennis Eaton; Pat and Daniel Cischke, Sr.; and Gail and David Oles all of South Bend; many nieces and nephews, nephew, Brian C. (Fatima) Cischke of South Bend; great nieces and great nephews; and lifelong friends, Kay Jessep of South Bend and Pat Miliken of Grants Pass, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas Cameron, Sr.; and two sisters, LaVerne “Fern” Banaszak and Mary Ellen Amato. Special thanks to her caretakers, Pat, Daniel, Brian and Fatima Cischke.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. Rev. Dr. Adelia Kelso, pastor of First Presbyterian Church-South Bend, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
