Charles Quimby - Class Of 1974 VIEW PROFILE

Charles Quimby

 

   

 

Charles was the youngest son of six siblings born to the unity of his parents Charles R. Quimby and Anita J. Quimby (Sperling). He was a very proud veteran who served in the Army.   His service in the Army were some of the best years of his life. 

He married while in the Army and had a son who was his namesake.  Charlie was an electrician and painter who enjoyed refurbishing and working on older homes.  He was part of a great team that restored the Lerner Theater in Elkhart years ago. 

He learned his trade as an electrician while in the military.  He worked for Houston Power and Light and even did some modeling while living in Texas for a number of years.  He returned to Indiana to be closer to his family.  He is survived by his sister Terry Beth and brother, Butch (Delisa) and his son Chuck (Jody) and a grandson Judah.  Charlie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents, multiple aunts, uncles and cousins and his siblings, Michael, Johnny and Patti Jo and his nephew Joel.  He especially enjoyed the weekends at Weko Beach, Tower Hill or Silver Beach on Lake Michigan. He lived in Michigan for a number of years with the love of his life.  

Charlie enjoyed music and sports of all kinds. Brooks and Dunn were one of his favorite groups. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, and playing golf.  He was very creative and especially enjoyed putting beautiful puzzles together and framing them.  He even enjoyed writing poetry like his grandfather Frederick C. Sperling.  May he Rest in Peace at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan and enjoy fishing up in heaven with his dad.
