ELIZABETH (MCDONOUGH) SHAFER

Elizabeth Shafer Dec. 17, 1932 - Dec. 11, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth Ann Shafer, 81, residing in South Bend, passed away at 6:00 pm Thursday, December 11, 2014, at home. She was born December 17, 1932, in South Bend, IN, to the late Richard McDonough and Cecelia (Tierney) McDonough.

Elizabeth was a graduate of John Adams High School in South Bend, class of 1950.

On September 8, 1951, she married Theodore D. Shafer, who preceded her in death June 16, 2012. Also preceding in death is a son, Ted Shafer III.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara (James) Wynne of Coeur d alene, Idaho; one brother, Richard (Mary) McDonough of Mishawaka; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Scheetz of Mishawaka and Roseann Eddy of South Bend; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 1:00 pm at Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where friends may visit with the family two hours prior to services.
