Mary Siney (Hardesty)

Mary K. (Siney) Hardesty

Just short of her 90th birthday, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2016 in Louisville.

Her battle with cancer ended in dignity and love with words of concern for others. Mary was married for 67 years to Albert "Mac" Hardesty who survives her.

Mary was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, met and married her husband Mac, who attended the University of Notre Dame in 1949. Her life was quickly focused on raising their family of eight children after moving to Louisville. Mary, a tireless homemaker, dedicated the rest of her life to raising children; her own, her 13 grandchildren, her 6 great-grandchildren and those of countless neighbors and friends. In her later years they all found ways to see her and thank her for all the love and care she shared with them.

A religious and caring soul, Mary also dedicated countless hours providing prayers and bereavement to others whose families faced the end of life. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic church.

Mary is survived by all of her children and grandchildren, her brother and sister, Mike and Joann, and her loving sister-in-laws Ann and Mary Lou.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, July 15, her 90th birthday at St. Margaret Mary church located at 7813 Shelbyville Rd. in Louisville at 10 a.m. A memorial fellowship and celebration of her life will follow at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mass of the Air or Louisville Hosparus.
