Apr. 10, 1927 - May 23, 2004

Mary Blanche Pringle, 77, passed away Sunday, May 23, in the Victoria Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Miami, Fla.

Mary was born April 10, 1927, in South Bend, Ind., as the daughter of the late Norris L. and Della Gleason Mann, who preceded her in death.

Mary graduated from John Adams High School, South Bend, class of 1945 and from St. Marys College, South Bend and Mt. Carmel School of Nursing, Columbus, Ohio. After her education was completed she worked as a nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. It is there that she met a medical student, James Pringle, who she married in St. James Episcopal Church in South Bend on June 14, 1952. She moved to Montgomery for her husband to work at Maxwell Air Force Base, and then to Boston, Mass, while her husband finished his residency. Later she and her husband moved to Coral Gables, Fla., where they resided for the remainder of their lives. For much of this time she put all her energy into the welfare of her children, who she served as den-mother, room mother, and PTA activist throughout their education. She was especially active as a chaperon for the Coral Gables High School Band, of which all of her children were members and which she accompanied to parades and Super Bowls. After her children were grown, Mary returned to nursing at both a professional level and then as a hospital volunteer. Her husband preceded her in death March 1989.

Mary is survived by a daughter and three sons, Joan (Bob) Bustamante of Miami, James (Shirley) Pringle of Miami, Lon Norris (Lisa) Pringle of Atlanta, Ga. and Scott Pringle of Miami. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Katelyn, Madison, and James Pringle of Atlanta, and her sister, Joan Helen Mann Hartings of Haines City, Fla.

A memorial services was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 29 in St. Philips Episcopal Church, 1142 Coral Way, Coral Gables, FL 33134, 305-444-6167.
